The Details

  • Just like it sounds. We ship you a pre-loaded ready to go AI server to your district. We are currently using Mac Mini servers that you simple plug into your IT stack within your district, do a few simple configurations and your AI server is up and running internally. If you want to access your AI via a URL such as ai.myschool.com we can help you configure that as well. Want staff and students to have access to it outside your districts network? We can help you with that as well.

    What AI models does it run?

    The server will run any AI model out there. There are two ways to run models. Locally on the AI server or via an API. Local models such as deepseek and Llama and a host of others can be downloaded to the server and ran with no extra cost.

    If you want the access to OpenAI’s ChatGPT models, Google Gemini models or other models. Those can be accessed via an API that we can help you set up. The school will be responsible for any API fees associated with these connections. However, these connections give you the latest and best models available and the cost is significantly lower then paying for ChatGPT or MagicSchool accounts for every teacher and student. The cost is based on use and price at the time so may very. Our research tells us you can expect about $2/month per heavy active user.

    What’s the capacity of a server?

    This will depend on usage and the way you want the server to be configured. If you are running just local AI models like deepseek. Then a server will support about 200 active users. If you are using APIs say to OpenAI’s ChatGPT models then you will be able to have more active users per server but have the additional cost of the API fee.

    Can you expand capacity as needed?

    Yes! For the price of another server (currently about $4,000) you can add it to your own stack and expand your user accounts. Right now most districts will be able to handle about 200 users per server.

    Who owns the server?

    You do! You own the server and all the data on it. This is what makes this so cost effective. For $10,000 you get your own server ($5,000) plus support ($3,000) and PD ($2,000) built in. No monthly fees, no up-charges, no subscription costs (except API fees). After the first year you can purchase another year of support or not. Up to you and your IT team.

  • We won’t leave you hanging. The AI server comes with one year of support. We will keep your server updated and support you and making sure you stay compliant.

  • The most important part of the process is training end users in using AI effectively and efficiently. IT staff and school admin will have one-year of access to the online training courses, supporting you getting up and running quickly.
